Paint the Peninsula
Plein Air Festival & Competition

August 21 - 27, 2017
Port Angeles, Washington, USA
Art lovers and fine artists from across North America meet at Paint the Peninsula, a plein air festival and competition in and around Port Angeles, Washington, Aug. 21-27.
Painters work on location in Olympic National Park, in the Victorian seaport of Port Townsend, on the wilderness coast and other scenic spots.
Fresh paintings are on sale all week, with new ones added daily at the Port Angeles Fine Arts Center, 1203 E. Lauridsen Blvd. in Port Angeles.
Oil painting and watercolor workshops are also on offer from two teaching artists on Aug. 17, 18 and 19, just before the festival.
A gala awards party and show - with 150 original plein air works - caps the event at the Port Angeles Fine Arts Center, overlooking the Strait of Juan de Fuca.

The 9th Annual Zion National Park Plein Air Invitational will be held November 6-12, 2017 in Zion Canyon. 24 of the nations top plein air artists will be painting throughout the park, giving free demonstrations, exhibiting studio and plein air work, and selling their art to benefit Zion National Park.
This year's featured artist is James McGrew, of Lake Oswego, Oregon. (see the image to the left - "Eternal Majesty" 30"x40" oil)
